Going Full Force Towards Data Autonomy

Under our new governance, we are heading full force toward Data Autonomy sharpening our focus on “Research and Innovation in Data Privacy.”

While technology remains our core focus, we also diligently address policy, recognising that technological advancements and policy influence each other, enhancing legal rights for data owners.

By integrating these areas, we aim to create a synergistic impact that accelerates the global recognition of data privacy as a fundamental human right.

Our core commitments

Our mission statement is clear: To empower people with the knowledge and technological tools necessary to protect data privacy, ownership, and control.

We extend this mission by actively collaborating with businesses and governments around the world to shape policies and practices that reinforce the integrity of data autonomy.

Our vision is ambitious: to forge a future where data privacy is universally acknowledged and upheld as a fundamental human right.

We aim to shape a future where every individual, irrespective of nationality or any distinguishing attributes, has their data privacy and autonomy recognised as a fundamental core human right, from the moment of birth to the end of life.

In being a for-humanity organisation….

We are committed to advancing and enriching humanity’s welfare by:

  1. Conducting rigorous research and spreading critical innovation about data privacy to arm humanity with the information needed to safeguard their data autonomy, and in doing so to influence businesses, and governments shaping policies and practices that reinforce the integrity of data autonomy.
  2. Creating and consulting policies and legislative frameworks that enhance individuals’ authority over their personal data, promoting a just and privacy-respecting environment.
  3. Educating the public to equip them with the necessary tools and knowledge for personal data management and ownership.
  4. Partnering with tech developers to advance and refine technologies that strengthen data privacy and security, making these innovations widely available to preserve the rights of data owners.

Building our community!

To build a broad-based community engaged in our mission, we are introducing a membership: General Members.

Our General Members will enjoy a host of benefits, including discounts, beta-testing opportunities, exclusive events, early updates on our latest innovations and findings, and more.

As a General Member, you will be able to participate in our Annual General Meeting, vote, and discuss how we will work towards realising and shaping our vision and mission.

As part of our collective humanity, you will have a say in shaping the world for your data privacy and data autonomy, and work towards a world where data privacy is universally recognised as a fundamental human right.

We will soon update you on how the membership will work and how you can apply.

So, what’s next?

We will provide further updates on how we will lead DFLab’s monumental endeavour in the coming weeks.

We view our vision as an intergenerational challenge that extends far into the future. Achieving recognition of data privacy as a fundamental human right could take a decade or many generations.

The journey will require time, considerable effort, and will encounter numerous challenges. However, we anticipate that the outcome will be like a tree that bears fruit for all humanity.

Please join us on our journey to grow that tree for you, for others, and for future generations.
